This peice was inspired by the workshop 'Rhythm and Movement' ran by Ingrid Kleins-Daniels, working in collaboration with MA art students, MA dance students, and Déda in Derby.
This workshop invited artists to listen to five pieces of music, and respond visually to the rhythms. Artists were then invited to work with dancers performing to the same five pieces of music, to respond visually to their movements.
'NOISE / MAKING A RACKET' is an experimental depiction of sound, melody, and rhythm, as represented by images of and as soundwaves, soundwaves as images, and instinctual responses to rhythm and movement, inspired by the workshop sketches.

The sketches below are my initial responses to the workshop, from which I was able to further the process and my ideas into the final peice.
